The American College of Cardiology (ACC) has notified East Liverpool City
Hospital that we met the requirements for the Chest Pain Accreditation!
This three year accreditation is truly a great accomplishment for the
population we serve, the facility, and the nursing staff.
The accreditation ensures the Inpatients as well as the Emergency Department
patients, suffering from Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) will receive prompt
and evidenced based cardiac care that includes ,if needed, transfer to
tertiary care. This accreditation, again through evidence based practice,
provides the nurse at the bedside the ability recognize and begin rapid
interventions to assist with the diagnosis and treatment.
On Tuesday, October 3 the ACC was on site to review all policies, procedures,
and witness practice. The ACC interviewed members of the Administrative
Team, Medical Staff, Nursing Staff, members from the Emergency Medical
Services, and members from three of the Cardiac Receiving Centers we transfer to.
East Liverpool began this journey with eleven other PRIME facilities and
we are the FIRST to receive the accreditation! Our team is now assisting
other PRIME facilities with their accreditation obstacles.
