The East Liverpool
City Hospital Auxiliary recently donated $172,800 to the hospital for the
purchase of equipment for three clinical projects.
With
this contribution, the Auxiliary’s recorded monetary donations to the hospital
since 1972 total more than $1.92 million.
President
and CEO Mel Creeley accepted the
contribution on behalf of the hospital and expressed appreciation to the
Auxiliary for its efforts to support the ELCH mission. “This contribution
represents many, many hours of dedicated and tireless service to the hospital.
The Auxiliary fully embraces our mission of caring for the community and it
shows. We truly appreciate the support we receive from the loyal volunteers who
serve through our Auxiliary,” he said.
Auxiliary
President Donna Todd presented a check for $150,000 and Remembrance Fund Chair
Debbie Riggs presented another check for $22,800, making the
contribution total of $172,800.
“We
are pleased to contribute to the hospital in such a meaningful way,” Todd said.
“The hospital does such wonderful things for our citizens and we are proud to
help it continue to provide care and comfort.”
The
Auxiliary’s donation is earmarked for renovations in the ICU and surgical
outpatient areas, and will also help offset the cost
of the hospital’s bedside medication verification project.
The ELCH Auxiliary
has more than 120 members and conducts numerous fundraising activities
throughout the year. All funds are donated back to the
hospital for purchases of equipment and to support patient care. The group also
provides volunteers throughout the hospital and operates the Coffee Café and
Gift Shop.
