Cancer
Treatment
All three major weapons to fight cancer - surgery, chemotherapy and
radiation therapy - are available through City Hospital and a nearby
affiliated clinic. Surgery and chemotherapy treatments are done in the
surgery department. A physician prescribes the amount of chemotherapy
drug and number of treatments, and supervises administration. Chemotherapy
treatments are done in the surgical outpatient treatment room on the
third floor. Radiation therapy and the services of a radiation oncologist
are available through the nearby Tri-State Cancer Center. The center
offers therapeutic and palliative radiation treatment for a number of
cancer types using a high-energy linear accelerator. The center provides
consultations and second opinions, free patient transportation and education
materials. The Tri-State Cancer Center phone number is 330-385-9120.
For information on surgery or chemotherapy, call the hospital surgery
department at 330-386-2017.
