Outpatient
Services
Occupational
Therapy
Occupational therapists (OT's) help people overcome problems of everyday
living resulting from injury, surgery, illness and disabilities. OT's
frequently work with patients who have had strokes, hip or knee replacement,
arthritis or hand injuries. Adaptive equipment and training are used
to help patients accomplish normal activities such as feeding themselves,
bathing, dressing, housework, cooking, writing and walking. Occupational
therapists fabricate splints for muscle retraining, train patients to
use walkers and wheelchairs, help depressed patients function in society,
and do home safety evaluations. Call 330-386-2671.
Physical
Therapy
Physical therapists use treatments prescribed by the patient's physician
to reduce pain and help the individual regain strength and range of
motion following an illness or injury, or as the result of a disability.
Physical therapy uses physical agents including heat, cold, electricity,
water, sound and light, mechanical measures including exercise, massage,
whirlpool baths and hot packs, and manual manipulation. Call 330-386-2054.
