Step-down Unit (Telemetry, IMC)
The Step-Down Unit on the fourth floor, East Wing, provides an intermediate phase of convalescence between the ICU/CCU and Medical-Surgical units and is staffed with registered nurses. A telemetry monitor is a portable battery-operated device worn on the body, which transmits the patient's heart rate to a monitor at the nurse station.
